HAYES CARRL NOVEMBER 2019

This is a series of three 3-color screen printed posters for a run of Texas shows Hayes Carrl played. I made the color of the truck have the info specific to each show so that I’d just have to change out that screen and it would make each city’s show a different color truck. Since that screen was being swapped already, I also drew a background skyline unique to each city and since the color of the skyline was created by the overlay of the transparent blue on top of the first color, the skyline could be a different color on each poster as well.

PAT GREEN AT BILLY BOB'S

4-color screen printed poster for a Pat Green show at Billy Bob’s. The venue here is world famous for having actual live bull riding, and this show was also being held during a big rodeo event in town. So with that in mind I decided to draw my own grandfather, who was actually a bull rider in his younger days. We had a handful of old photos of him riding so I based this drawing on one of those. My grandfather was also an avid gardener, so I used corn stalks as an added design element.
